This month is the completion my five-year appointment on the Boulder Arts Commission. For the last two years I served on the Convention and Visitors Bureau Board as the Boulder Arts Commission representative. Both of these appointments have taught me about City of Boulder funding and logistics of the arts and major community events.
I am a practicing speech/language pathologist in the public schools. As part of my contribution to the educational community, for the last eight years I have been active in the management and fund raising for the largest speech conference in Colorado. I held the positions of co-chair, compliance officer and secretary for the Metro Speech Symposium.
From 1999 to 2007, I was a singer and helped with fund raising activities for the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. Since returning to my hometown of Boulder in 2007, I have been active in a number of arts organizations including the Boulder Bach Festival, Ars Nova and Cantabile Singers where I have been involved in SCFD grant writing.
I have my undergraduate degree in Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I worked as the librarian and public relations representative for the Central City Opera. Following that experience, I moved to Southern California and briefly worked as an administrative assistant for the Orange County Arts Commission and then as Box Office Manager for the Pacific Symphony. I relocated back to Colorado, and accepted the position of Public Relations Manager for the Pops and Great Artist Series for the Denver Symphony.
I have a great passion for the performing and visual arts. I know that I can make strong contributions in fundraising and development efforts on behalf of the Museum of Boulder.
