Persian Cultural Day at The Museum of Boulder Celebrating Nowruz

Celebrate Nowruz with the Museum of Boulder and Persian Cultural Circle.

About this event

Join us at the Museum of Boulder for an afternoon celebrating Persian Culture.

Experiences that will be available throughout the Museum:

  • Symbolic fire traditional ritual to help cleanse and bring in the new red energy to the new year. Enter the new year with positivity.
  • A ritual table will be set up in the Lobby beginning a week before the event
  • Art created by Mehry Khosravi be available for viewing and purchasing in the lobby:
  • Informational screening of Nowruz history, rituals and traditions will be on display
  • 2 live dance performances
  • Traditional Persian outfits to be worn by Persian Cultural Ambassadors
  • Hafez: poetry oracle-type readings
  • Wooden spoon painting activity to be continued with a Persian Cultural Ritual
  • Light snacks and beverages will be offered on a first come first serve basis
  • Traditional Persian Tea Experience
  • Nowruz Flower Bar (add-on option with ticket price)

History of Nowruz:

Nowruz has been celebrated in Iran and the Persian diaspora for more than 3,000 years. Nowruz celebrates arrival of spring as a victory over darkness.

Nowruz is the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year, which begins on the spring equinox, marking the first day of Farvardin, the first month of the Iranian solar calendar.
