Colorado has inspired hundreds of composers, lyricists, and performers. Their songs focus on the natural beauty of the mountains, explore our history, are used to cheer on the crowds at CU, and more. This tour includes twenty songs in a variety of styles and genres, dating from the late nineteenth century to today. They both reflect and define what it means to live in the Centennial State. This presentation explores both Colorado’s positives and negatives through music. From folk songs to rap, from country to rock, from opera to pop, this guided tour of Colorado songs offers something for everyone.
