Comic Book Summer Camp!

June 14 @ 9:00 am - June 18 @ 3:00 pm

Get creative and dream up your own superheroes and fantasy creatures. Tell the stories of the crazy adventures they go on in your very own comic book! You’ll work with real comic book illustrators and writers and leave with a masterpiece to take home. Pop Culture Classroom (the same one that brings you Denver Pop Culture Con, formerly Denver Comic Con) is coming from Denver to take kids in Boulder on this unique adventure.

Notes on Covid protocols:

The nature of this camp makes social distancing and guaranteeing sanitation relatively easy to manage, which we did in the summer of 2020. As the date approaches, the Museum will stay in close contact with parents regarding safety protocols, which will be in line with state and local guidelines. At present, we anticipate campers will be required to wear masks and keep a distance to campers outside their household, and meals will be taken outside. We will keep flexible refund policies to ensure that everyone is able to cancel to keep their families safe.

Days are broken into:

  • instruction time to learn the craft and techniques
  • studio time (to create)
  • free time (we load up piles of comics and games for your kids to explore, read, and play to their whims during this time)
  • active or exploration time (outdoors, in the Museum’s Google Garage tinkering space or in the active, kid-friendly exhibits)
  • lunch time
  • snack breaks
  • your kids will also leave with gift bags of comic books to take home

Testimonials:
“Ethan isn’t into the stuff at most camps: he’s not into art or robotics or super physical camps. But he is imaginative and creative and really into comics and games, so this was a godsend for us.”

– Parent

“My daughter has never done a camp like this. She came home every day excited to tell me about everything she did!”
– Parent

“As a comic book lover myself, I understand the power of this medium to stimulate the mind.”

– Parent
*Cancellation policy: We’ll refund 100% up to 30 days out. 14-29 days out we’ll refund 80%. Less than that we will refund 50%.
